Did you know that one of the most beautiful regions in Germany – the neanderland - with its impressive landscapes, architectural highlights, the site of the first Stone Age man and the state capital Düsseldorf are a stone’s throw away from each other?
The Expat Service Desk ME&DUS organizes two times per year – in summer and in winter the guided bus-tours for expats and their families, especially newcomers, and show the region Düsseldorf – County of Mettmann from the cultural, geographical, as well as economic point of view.
Before this year’s summer break begins, we offer and invite you to this insightful trip to the worldwide famous Neandertal with visits of the old city of Mettmann and then Düsseldorf – the capital of the state North Rhine-Westphalia. The journey begins in Neandertal, which is famous for its wonderful architecture, nature, the discovery of the Neanderthal man and for its modern Neanderthal museum, which shows the history of humanity. Following this, you will take a walk through the old town of Mettmann, discovering the unique architecture with its historic half-timbered houses, typical slate roofs, and green shutters. Afterward, the trip continues back to Düsseldorf. There, you can enjoy the charm and architecture of the Rhine-adjacent neighborhoods of Oberkassel and the Düsseldorf Harbor.
Our trip will be accompanied by two experienced local guides, who will show you the region and tell everything you as a newcomer need to know about it in English language. Join this trip and get to know more about Düsseldorf – County of Mettmann which is the perfect place to work and live in!
Tour schedule
4.00 pm: Start of registration.
4.30 pm: Departure to the Neandertal.
5.00 pm: Visit to the "neanderland", the “Erlebnis Tower Höhenblick”, and the old town of Mettmann.
Networking & exchange with drinks and finger food at Café am Markt, Mettmann.
7:45 pm: Return to Düsseldorf and excursion in the Düsseldorf Harbor and Düsseldorf City Center.
Participation in our guided tour for company-representatives, expats and their families is free of charge, but online-registration is required. Please, consider that you can only participate, when you make a registration and get a confirmation. The registration is possible till May, 25.
